Justin
O'Brien
Justin
O’Brien is a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Justin
has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and East Asian Studies from
the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He has a Master in Irish
Politics and a Doctorate in Philosophy from Queen's University,
Belfast.
He started his professional career as Freelance Newspaper Writer
for various newspapers including; The Irish Times, the Evening
Herald and the South China Morning Post. He then moved to the
BBC to develop his skills as a Network News Trainee later becoming
Chief Sub-Editor and Producer for the BBC World Service Radio
& Television News.
Another
big break came in Justin’s career when he was given the
role of Producer/Reporter for Prime Time on RTE. He then went
on to become Producer for the Current Affairs programme Spotlight
on BBC, Northern Ireland and later was an Editor of Current Affairs
programmes for UTV, Belfast.
Justin
has published a number of books on the topics of politics and
current affairs. The Modern Prince: Charles J Haughey and
Fianna Fail is Justin’s first political publication
for Merlin Publishing.
