Kevin
Murphy
Kevin
Murphy was born in Bray, County Wicklow in 1959. He started is
career in journalism in the Wexford People Newspaper and later
wrote for the Sunday World. From there he became the Business
Correspondent for the Evening Herald and then the Deputy Business
Editor of The Irish Independent.
He gave up a permanent and pensionable job in Irish Independent
in November 1996. Unhappy for some time at the various child minding
arrangements, he and his wife decided that one of them should
stay at home to mind the three children. It was decided that Kevin
should give up his job and work part time as a freelance journalist
while the children were at school.
The
columns he wrote as a freelancer cover the first few years of
his new way of life. He now lives in County Dublin with his wife
and three growing children. It’s A Dad’s Life
chronicles his new life at home and is published by Merlin Publishing.
