McCullagh
Tony
McCullagh has been a journalist for over 15 years and is Group
Managing Editor of the Dublin People Group of Newspapers, publishers
of The Northside People and The Southside People. He has previously
written for the Irish Independent and Sunday World and has contributed
to the Dublin radio station News Talk 106.
Together
with Elaine Moore, Tony wrote Danger to Society – Elaine
Moore’s Story for Merlin Publishing. With exclusive
extracts from Elaine's prison diaries, as well as interviews with
those involved in her campaign, this is the first ever full account
of her notorious case.
In
2001, Tony, along with journalist Neil Fetherstonhaugh, wrote
about the Stardust tragedy in They Never Came Home - The Stardust
Story. Tony lived in Baldoyle at the time of the fire. This
is just one of the reasons why he decided to write a book on the
tragedy. The author said that he had been following the stories
of the Stardust victims and families for many years and as someone
who lived close to the area, their stories struck a cord, and
in research for the book the survivors really opened their hearts.
Neil Fetherstonhaugh is co-author of They Never Came Home:
The Stardust Story with Tony McCullagh.
