Wolfhound
Press
In November 2001 Merlin Publishing took over Wolfhound Press,
which was established in 1974, and has a well-known reputation
for producing high quality books of Irish interest. We are dedicated
to maintaining this tradition and Wolfhound continues to operate
as an independent imprint, with its own distinct list, under the
Merlin umbrella.
Most
recently Wolfhound Press has published the critically acclaimed
The
Ancient Books of Ireland by Michael Slavin,
The
All-Ireland Dream by Seamus McRory and The
Throw-In by Brendan Fullam.
The
Wolfhound Children’s list is extensive with many titles
of great historical and cultural importance. We are currently
re-launching the fox series by Tom McCaughren which is a modern
Irish children’s classic. It includes the multi-award-winning
books Run
with the Wind and Run
Swift, Run Free. The Liam O’Flaherty
backlist, which incorporates the literary masterpieces, Famine
and The
Informer, is also being revamped.
In
the past four years we have published and re-published many other
successful Wolfhound titles including; The
Men Who Built Britain by Ultan Cowley which
sold over 20,000 copies in hardback, Captains
of the Ash by Brendan Fullam and The
Vikings, the seventh book in the highly acclaimed
Illustrated History series.
We
are always on the look out for new talent and ideas and our editorial
team would be delighted to hear from you. Please check our Getting
Published section for details.
